This popular tourist attraction and UNESCO World Heritage Site is the tomb of the Mughal Emperor Humayun which was commissioned by Humayun’s son Akbar in 1569-70. Designed by Persian architect Mirak Mirza Ghiyas, it was the first garden-tomb on the Indian subcontinent and the first structure to use red sandstone at such a large scale.
